why is there so many critics on Hazrat Mukhar r.a even though he avenged the blood of imam Hussain a.s by killing his killers, there is lot of praises in hadith about him in numerous books, but some ulemas I have heard condemn his behavior and revile him? any particular reason?
Yes, Mukhtar Al Saqafi is a very controversial topic in shia islam.
In the era of Yazeed Imam Sajjad’s activity was greatly monitored so he couldn’t directly order the jihad and the revenge since the right of waging a war is only obtained by a masoom. Imam Sajjad ordered that Hanafiya, The son of Imam Ali to be the Representative of Imam in matters of war. This is quite clear and not a weak reference.
The historians were not sure that the order of war was given by Hanifya in the fight against Abdullah ibn e Zubayr and Yazeed ibn e Muawiya. Some also believe that Hanafiya’s activity was also heavily monitored so he also wrote the letter in secretive key words.
It is better to respect Mukhtar Al Saqafi for his work.
