Assalamualaikum, what is nauchandi Jumerat and how it introduces in Shia Islam as at this day Majlis etc are held in houses apart from Muharram so what is the history of nauchandi Jumerat
The event of Nauchandi Jumerat mentioned refers to the first Thursday after the new moon of each lunar month if i’m right.
It is to be noted that Thursdays in general have had a special spiritual status and significance in south asian cultures on which people used to hold special gatherings. Over time, however, the cultural observance was adapted into the Shia practics and it became a day to honor the memory of the AhlulBayt (a.s) and to hold Majalis in order to commemorate the sacrifices of Prophet Muhammad (saw)’s family.
While, it may not have originally been a Shia event, it eventually became one.
And personally, what I think is that such a day, even if it wasn’t originally a Shia oriented day, should be observed as it is in the memory of the Pure AhlulBayt (a.s) of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw).
